New Year, New Loot!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Welcome 2012!!!!

Look at my LOOT!!!!

I received a bag of Christmas Goodies from my pals Bruschi and Ebby in Florida Bruschi the Puggle ! Everything was delish! My roommate Susie was so jealous, she stole a Candy Cane rawhide from the coffee table and ate it all in her kennel. I was planning on sharing, but I wasn't expecting to have it stolen! Thank you Bruschi and Ebby!!!!.....Christen too!
By buddy Preston the Puggle sent an awesome Topsy Turvy Chicken/Fox toy, with a super sized bag of Pupperoni Treats! I definitely loved my new toy....I wouldn't even let my Mama pull the tags off before I took off with it! The treats were super yummy,....Susie and Duke thanks Preston and Suzz too!!!!.....also, Mama received some really nice smelling soap! She was so excited and felt so loved!Finally....meet my new pal Dixie. Dixie is an Australian Sheppard Mix that is the fur baby of my Mama's gal pal Linda.

Dixie was so sweet and had read my Santa Paws letter and answered my wishes. She sent over some really neat things....I was sooooo flattered!
Dixie gave me a super cool Squeaky Reindeer with a bag of Chicken Jerky! I loved the reindeer so much, I choose it over my Mama's squeaky toy for me! I guess I liked it better because it looked more like a little rascal that needed an extra squeeze. Thank you Dixie and Aunty Linda!!!

Mama and Daddy also made sure that I had my favorite treats stock piled for the new year. I am a very blessed pup and am very thankful for all the love by all my pals! May the new year bring lots of prosperity and laughter to everyone!

Dear Santa Paws!!!

Its CoCo Puff here! I'm providing my annual letter to you in hopes that it will get to the North Pole before X-Mas. This year my wish is simple....GOOD HEALTH to ALL, is all I want...pups & people!
In getting into the SPIRIT of Christmas....I got dressed for the occasion!
I've been a good pup all year....up until last week when I decided to leave my house to walk myself, since its been too cold for Daddy to walk me. Let me just say, Daddy made sure that I wouldn't ever do that again. I had ventured out to the front of the house, through the cracked garage door and roamed the neighborhood for 10 minutes...all by myself while Daddy was in the shower. I even rolled all over something dead to mask the scent! Daddy was not happy when he realized this! I think I might have lost some points to the naughty list during this incident! I'm so sorry!
But if you can look beyond this incident, here is the rest of my wish-list:

Its almost Howl-O-Ween!

Its that time of year again....the one that I'm not too amused with. It should be illegal what the human do to us pups this time of year! Look.....

I have antennas....look.....! The black and yellow really accentuate my black fur!
At the end of the ordeal...I got a great treat. My Mama said it looked like I had a cigarette in my mouth!

Snacks and Football!

Hello! CoCo Puff here! Football season has started!!!! I'm smiling for the camera!As Daddy watches football, I practice my tricks with my Mama! My training treat of choice are the Evo Salmon Snacks....given to me by my Puggle Pal Preston!
After I was finish with my snacks....I went to ask Daddy for his snack! He was eating this huge White Flesh Peach....YUM!Daddy always shares his peach with me! I always know I'd get at least a full slice!
It was so sweet and juicy! YUM YUM!
Can I have some more of that stuff?
Please!!!! I'm staring at a treat!
After a good snack...its time for a nap!

Woof Gang Bakery!

Look what we found here in Texas! We found a new Doggy Bakery! Its called "Woof Gang Bakery!" I was first introduced to it by my pal Bruschi and Ebby! They had sent me Birthday love from Florida from Woof Gang!

My Pawrents bought me a honey and oatmeal cookie bone. It was super yum yum yum!
Its been so hot here in Austin....today we had a record of 112 degrees! Can we say HOT. Don't forget, I have a black fur coat on year round!

Happy Birthday CoCo!!!!

Happy Birthday to CoCo Puff!!!! Its my Birthday! Its my Birthday! Its my Birthday!Every year, my Mama and Daddy tries to make my Birthday as special as possible! I always feel the love! Look at all the goodies I received: Dingo sticks, chicken jerky, squeaky toys, and a cake!
This year I turned 5! Mama can hardly believe it! Can you see the gray hair on my chin? It breaks my Mama's heart!
My Birthday Pup Cake is a Cinnamon Carob Cookie/Cake from our local Groovy Dog Bakery. My name is written in Yogurt Icing....YUM!

Yummy! Happy Birthday to me!Here I am posing with my squeaky Cupcake stuffie.I liked the candle part best!
Then I rolled on it several times to make sure that I marked it as MINE!!!
I also received a Peanut's Snoopy stuffie....I also rolled on Snoopy to identify it as my toy!

Dinner is Late....where's dinner?

We spent the day here at Mama's house....and my dinner was served late! I normally have dinner by 5:30pm, as soon as Uncle Gary gets home from work! I'm on a schedule here, where's the food????!!!!!I know my din din is in that refrigerator....will someone get it for me? Its already 5:35pm!
Mama!!!!!....put that camera down and get me some dinner! I'm hungry!
Daddy finally heard me and asked me to take a bow before dinner! I did as told!
So he went to get me some grub! I'd like double of my usual please!!!!

Uninvited Guest!

Sorry.....LONG TIME NO BLOG!!!! My Mama has been slacking!At any rate....it has been one HOT Spring and we have gotten an uninvited guest!

Who is this guest you might ask...her name is Kitty....that is because she is a stray that decided to show up at our front door. I guess she knew that Daddy and Uncle Gary are SUCKERS for feeding the hungry!I'm not too much of a fan of hers! She knows how to "bat" at my face. Although I think that it is quite funny to see her slap Susie in the face! I don't much like it when she thinks my tail is a cat toy when I'm wagging!
Since her arrival, I've had to share my bed and blanket...she's definitely made herself at home. She came wearing a flea collar, so we thought she may have been a missing pet, but when Daddy and Uncle Gary posted signs and listed her on Craigslist, no one has claimed her. I hope we are not stuck with her! Look at her....this was her stance before she batted me again! That stinker!

Spaghetti Night!!!

The bowl on the top is Mama's Spaghetti Dinner....the bowl on the bottom is my portion of Spaghetti dinner!I do not really get the "real" human spaghetti dinner. I didn't get to have the real sauce with all the flavors and seasonings. Instead...Mama gave me some raw ground beef with a spaghetti noodle. She didn't want me to feel left out!
Even though it wasn't the real thing....it was super yummy! Thank you Mama!!!! I will look forward to the next Spaghetti night!

Allergy Meds for Me!

Today, my Mama came by my house and gave me a surprise visit. She doesn't normally visit on Mondays! Then she told me we are going for a ride! Here I am, riding shotgun in Mama's car!
I thought, "well geez...its about time lady, you haven't taken me anywhere in forever!" I was so excited to be going for a ride...."where are we going Mama? Are we going to the Doggy Park?" It sure did look and seem like we were going to the park....I saw a pup walking with their human!But instead, look where we ended up....at Love Pet Hospital....my Vet! YUCK!
Why are we at the Vet's you might ask...well, its because it is Spring and I've developed a serious Allergy with Live Oak pollen, and I've been itchy and scratchy for the last week. I've been licking, scratching, biting, gnawing, rolling and anything else that may relieve the itch around the clock. I've been keeping Daddy up at night because I've been too busy relieving my discomfort. As you all may recall, the same thing happened to me last year! Spring is here and I'm itchy and scratchy! So finally Mama insisted I get looked at! Here I am waiting for the Vet Tech!
First, came the weigh in. I don't usually like this part. In the past it had always meant that a diet would follow!

But lucky for me, this time I weighed in at 21.6 lbs. That is 0.2 lbs less than last November! Hurray for CoCo Puff...no diet for me!!!!
This is what I looked like when the actual Vet came in. I know she meant business. I don't know if hiding under the chair will help disguise me...hopefully she won't see me!
As usual, Dr. Davenport is not so bad. She actually is a total cuddle bug and always gives me lots of hugs and kisses. She makes sure I'm calm and comfortable before she looks me over!
It turned out, I was given an Allergy Shot to help relieve the itchiness and was prescribed 1/4 of a Zyrtec for future irritations. Yes...the human kind. We learned today that it is okay to give pups Zyrtec and Benadryl. It is 1/2 Zyrtec or 3/4 teaspoon of Benadryl for every 20lbs of dog. So to temporarily relieve allergies, I will be taking the same meds as my Daddy!

The Allergy Shot was a form of steroid shot. The side effects are: increase thirst, which leads to increased appetite, which leads to increase peeing and pooing! Excessive allergy shots can lead to muscular damage and liver problems, so a homeopathic method is recommended for pups that are highly allergic year round. Hopefully I'll not need anymore than this one shot!

Also, since I was excessively going after my tail, my Vet suggested that that was a sign that I needed my Anal Glands extracted....so needless to say, that was taken care of too. All in all, it was not a fun car ride, but I've gotten relief! Thanks Mama!

When we got back home, Mama gave me a whole cookie for being so good! I ate the whole thing! Yum!

After Dinner Stare!

My Daddy likes to indulge in front of me! After dinner, he likes to eat his Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Almond Crunch Bar. Whenever he does that, I get into position and do my stare.
Hey wait...don't finish the whole thing!!!! Save some for me!!!!!
After the entire stare session, all I get is the stick! Pooey!!!! Something along the line of me not being able to eat chocolate!

Its Barking Cold here in Texas!!!!

I woke up this morning and I could smell it in the air that something was not quite like my usual morning. As usual, the first thing I do when I get up is to go outside to do my business! Damp, white and freezing is what I felt under my paws!
I cannot seem to find my usual spot to go....where did the smell go? What is all this white stuff?
Daddy decided to take me out front...and oh my, there was more of that freezing fluffy stuff!
After sniffing it out....I was told it was something called "snow!" We actually received enough for it to be measurable. I think it was almost an inch worth! This is my first experience with the fluffy stuff. I don't think I'm up for this!
Its too cold for my comfort! I think I'm going to go get my sweater! For those of you who know me...I'm not much for clothes. You know its cold when I'm willing to opt for it. I think it was something like 18 degrees F this morning!
Okay, I'm not that much of a fashionista.....will someone remove my hood?
Hey, this paw print thingy is pretty cool!
Look at all my paw prints....I think I did pretty good at leaving my mark in playing in the snow!
Okay, I think I've had enough experiencing of this "snow" business....can we go inside now?
Back inside where its nice and toasty! I'll be inside doing this all day as long as there is that fluffy stuff outside!
Look!!!! It was so barking cold that my Mama was able to build a mini snowman at her house! She was so excited, this was her first snowman here in her hometown of Austin, Texas!
We have to bow our snouts down to all those pups and humans that endure this weather and temperature every winter! There is no way us Texans can survive this mess! BBbbrrrrrrrr!

Slow start to 2011

I've had a slow start to the new year! My Mama has been slow in coming in helping me blog these days. Since buying a house, and moving 30 miles away from my house, she is almost a stranger! I'm so sad. She also feels very guilty when she goes for a while before seeing me!

At any rate...we had a very quiet Christmas, and I received great presents from my pals Preston, and Bruschi and Ebby. They were all so kind and generous. Thank you bloggy pals!
Look at the chewies Bruschi and Ebby sent along with the beautiful Xmas Card Photo. Yum! I had to share with Susie and Duke!Look at the bag of treats and leggy stuffy Preston sent, along with his festive card!
This year the retailers have gotten smarter. In past years, I've always received a lot of Dingo bones as a New Year's gift due to the "after Christmas sales." This year, there were no New Year's gifts due to the retailers not having any doggy bones for the holidays. Mama and I were a bit disappointed! But a Greenie will always cheer me up!

This winter has been quite chilly too! I've been stuck indoors quite a bit. On the rare occasions where I do get out, we have Cedar Fever here in Austin!

Cedar Fever is when all the Cedar pollen disperse into the air at the same time. A lot of humans are highly allergic...my Daddy being one of the them, so we don't get to go out for walkies much. When outdoors, I want nothing to do with getting my picture taken, so Mama calls me a "professional camera dodger!"
I refuse to look into the camera....can we continue walking please?
We cannot wait until Spring arrives! We hope every human and every pup have a mild and pleasant winter!

Dear Santa Paws

Dear Santa Paws,

This year again has flown by! I almost did not get my letter out in time with my wish list for Christmas. As usual, I've been an excellent pup all year round and deserve lots of rewards. I am now a full grown pup at 4 1/2, and am starting to show it too. I've grown lots of white fur on my chin and had just received news from the vet that I have a knobbly knee. I do not show signs of any aches or pain, but my Mama is worried to death about me. This year for Christmas I would like:

for me to stay spunky and strong

Day with Mama!

Spending the day with Mama is quite relaxing. I just lounge around while she does house chores!
She is super nice and shares her breakfast with me! Today she had Kix cereal.Of course my Mama always makes me work for my food!Then I do a great job in giving her things to do. "Mama, will you pick up my chewy bone for me?"I would give her the cute puppy dog eyes and it works every time!Thanks for picking up my bone for me!

International Treats!

Happy Thanksgiving to every human and every pup! I hope that everyone was able to eat a bundle!

Susie, my roommate received a care package from Korea. Look what we found inside!!!!
Dried Anchovies, Chicken wrapped rawhide bones, milkbones, and cheese rolls!They were not any typical kind of treats, they were a bunch of International Treats. A lot of which we've never had, nor can ever find here in the U.S. This here has been all of our favorite....Dried Anchovies, made especially for dogs!
It is so stinky that it makes us drool from the sound of the crackling bag it comes in! Look closely, you can see the bones still in them!
There was also this really cool Meaty Cheese Roll treat. We definitely don't have that here!
My eyes definitely light up when given an Anchovy treat!
Please stop taking my picture so I can go chow down on this treat....bones and all!

Sundays in the Fall

Sunday at Mama's house is a relaxing experience. The house has great lighting and the couch is quite comfy too.I'll usually hang out on the couch, relaxing and minding my own business, until Daddy busts out the football food.

Human food always gets my attention, and I'll sit up on high alert.

This is what captured my attention....it's quite smelly for it to be human food!
I give Daddy the stare down...until he finally notices. On Sundays, he's usually too busy looking at the television, watching teams go against each other with this egg shaped ball.

Happy Howl-o-Ween 2010!!!

Happy Howl-o-Ween to every pup and every human! Usually it is a holiday that is joyous for all, but I especially dislike it because I have to be the cutie-pa-tootie in a costume! Yuck!

This year, Mama thought that I would be super cute dressed up according to my nickname. Often times, Mama calls me Pumpkin Pie, even though my real name is CoCo Puff. Do catch her trend going for me....seems to be all food names?!?!??

So here I am....I'm Mama's Pumpkin Pie for Howl-o-Ween!
The pumpkin top was especially annoying. I was ready to toss it off to the dumps in this pic!
Although, I would have to say that I do look pretty flattering in the color orange! Its nice and appropriate for Howl-o-ween against my black fur.
Okay, what kind of treats am I going to get for doing the awesome trick of wearing this pumpkin for all your humor? Trick-or-Treat! I would like a bone please!!!!

Update on the Stinky Ear!

Sorry for not having a picture of me this post. My pawrents have been a little too busy. They went to a place like this:
Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to go. They felt super guilty leaving me at a friend's house, but especially guilty since I haven't fully recovered from my "ear infection."

We have been dealing with the gunk in my one ear, which then turned into both ears for the last 1 1/2 months. So today, Daddy took me to Dr. Love again. Turns out, it is allergies that are causing my irritations and not an ear infection.....barkkidy bark, bark! So I had my ears cleaned and was given a new treatment....hopefully this will clear it all up! Paws crossed! The good news is, I've lost one whole pound since our last visit! Mama is so proud of me...Daddy wasn't too impressed; he said I need to lose another pound...errrrgh!

Stinky Ear!

I found a sun spot in Mama's bedroom, and decided that sunbathing in the morning, indoors, is the best way of capturing my daily dose of Vitamin D!

As far as the Stinky Ear goes....its another ear infection. This time its the opposite ear than the first one I had 3 years ago. They say that once you get an ear infection, you are prone to getting them, so watch out Puggles, we are prone to them due to our floppy ears. ***Always make sure your Moms and Dads dry your ears really well after a bath. Thank goodness Daddy checked my ears and discovered the icky-ness before it got really bad. I was a good girl this time and didn't scratch as much to let the parents know I was in ear trouble.

So, after the Vet visit today, I'm on ear treatment and antibiotic ointments for 10 whole days. The worst part of this whole ordeal was that my weigh-in at the Vet came out at 22.3 lbs. The Vet told Daddy that she couldn't feel my ribs....=( Which now means...reduce food again and DIET, here I come.

I Got Mail!!!

I GOT MAIL!!!

It was such a pleasant surprise to receive mail from my buddy Preston the Puggle. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to open it. I sniffed it out and knew there was something yummy!

I received an awesome Bison Treat, a new Ice Cream Cone stuffie and an paw-to-graph picture of my famous pal Preston. The treats are super delicious and super crispy. Even my picky roommate Susie couldn't resist. She pays close attention when a Bison chip is given out. I am nice, and I share....reluctantly, of course. Susie is so jealous that Preston is my friend!

THANK YOU Preston & Preston's Mommy for a nice surprise. I'm so happy we are friends! I love my new stuffie! Mama is trying to get me to understand that it is called an "ice cream cone." I'm not as brilliant as Preston, and cannot catch on that I can use that to tell Mama and Daddy that I want ice cream too.

Unfamiliar Territory!

I'm in unfamiliar territory!!!! I feel lost and out of place. This new place is called "Mama's House."As you all may know, I live with my Daddy and Uncle Gary. That is in far South Austin. My Mama just bought her first home and it is way the heck up in Northwest Austin. It is an approximate 30 miles away from where I live! So needless to say, I felt lost. I kept a close eye on Daddy everywhere he went.

Mama had just bought a new couch that has not been doggy proofed yet, so she laid a flat sheet over it for me to get comfortable.
I followed Daddy everywhere he went.
I didn't venture around by myself too much.
The tile was nice and cool. Mama had just finished mopping before I arrived to visit.
At one point, I cried when I couldn't find Daddy. He was in the bathroom, and I cried at the door. "Hurry up from in there!"
I have a new yard to sniff at. Its quite big! The grass was kind of crunchy due to this excessive Texas heat!
At the end of the tour, I found refuge in my kennel. Thank goodness for something familiar.

Overall, I have a lot to get used to. I like Mama's new house, I just wish she was closer to where I live now. The benefit out of her living so far away is that I get to go on a long car ride to visit her!

Lazy Sundays calls for a Greenie!!!

Hot Summer Walks

Summer in Texas is just plain brutal. This year, we've been blessed with plenty of rain. The grass is green, the lake is full and the air is HUMID. In that, I can only go on walks at night time.

I make my usual stop at the neighbors.
I mark my territory at the field behind the house.
And I come home all exhausted.

Nothing beats the good 'ole "air conditioned" indoors. This is the result of a 20 minute walk. I'm a lightweight, I know.....Indoor Life is Good!

Long time no blog!

I'm so sorry to all my bloggy friends...its all my Mama's fault! She has been too busy to help me blog. She is "castle building," something along the lines of fixing up the new house she just bought...who knows what she's doing. Sorry, no new pictures of me either...I'm a professional camera dodger, so every single time Mama or Daddy held up one of those flashy devices, I would look the other way. Stay tuned, a new and more interesting blog will be up soon!

Bath Aftermath

I was an escape artist today and jumped out of the tub in the middle of my bath. You could have heard my Mama's scream from the end of the street. I made a wet mess in the bathroom. Mama was not too please.

RAW Diet!!! YUM!

The itching has not stopped. We have tried everything! Cold showers with oatmeal, tea tree, aloe, and other stuff. We have even done hydocortisone for dogs, benadryl, hot spot sprays and a lot of other topical ointments. I'm still scratching. I don't have a rash or redness in my skin, so even if I was taken to the Vet...they won't be able to see anything to diagnose the problem.

Spring is here and I'm itchy and scratchy!

The Spring season is here and I'm living in the Allergy Capital of the World! That means itchy and scratchy skin for me! I've never experienced this misery before, but with excessive rain this past winter, all our trees and flowers are in full bloom and the pollen are at its peak.

I've been scratching and scratching and scratching all week. Mama, Daddy and Uncle Gary finally noticed that I was not my normal happy self, so Mama came home with all this stuff the other day.
In turn, that would only mean one thing....a BATH....what a nightmare. I HATE baths! I was given an Oatmeal and Aloe bath soak...YUCK!

Are we done yet?After all that mess, I was still itching, so today my Mama had resorted to this....Children's Benadryl. It taste like cherry syrup, so I cannot complain. It has helped minimize my itching a little, but I'm still itchy and scratchy. My Daddy said that if I don't improve within the next 36 hours, he is going to take me to the vet....eeek!

Hopefully this beautiful Spring season will not be full of allergies for me. It is no fun! I hope every pup and human are having a better Spring season than I am. Does anyone else suffer bad skin allergies from tree and grass pollen? If so, does anyone have any good suggestions for a cure or relief? Please help me out if you have experienced the same thing.

Look what I found...a Doggy Biscuit the size of KING KONG! Mama and Daddy brought it home in their doggy bag from the local burger joint. I certainly wasn't expecting something for me from P. Terry's Burger Stand.It smelled so good I had to get closer...hey...it moved further away! I can almost reach it....S-T-R-E-T-C-H..... What? I'm not doing anything wrong...Mama, help me get the biscuit! PLEASE.....I GOT IT!!!!.......umUm..Ummmm good!The reward is oh so worth the effort! YUM!

Focused Face

Focused Face...Why so focused you might ask? Here is the reason that has gotten me so focused:

There are many different flavors, but the one we love is the Salty Sweet Kettlecorn flavor.

Trimmer and Slimmer...

My Mama have been slacking in helping me blog, but here is the update. I've been on my new food for about 3 weeks now and I think I'm getting trimmer and slimmer. My portion has been reduced to practically nothing....look....hardly enough kibbles in my bowl.I think I overheard Daddy say that I only get about 8 total ounces of kibbles a day, 4 oz twice a day....will someone help me call the Pet Police?!?!?!....I'm starving!!!!! The new kibbles are suppose to be the best dog food, closest to a raw diet, so supposedly I don't need that much...I frankly think it is doggy doo doo!

In turn, it does look like I'm getting a skinnier waist line. Mama agrees with me and thinks that Daddy is starving me to emaciation. What do you all think? Do I look better or emaciated?

I hope all the pups out there are not going through what I have to go through...its tough to get trimmed and slimmed.

New Bed & New Food!!!

The weather has not let up. It has been sleeting for two days and raining for one week straight. I'm tired of all this soggy mess, so I have been relaxing in my kennel. Mama and Daddy helped make my kennel super cozy.
I have a soft blanket, my cozy round bed on a memory foam mattress. It is even covered up so its nice and dim.
Today, Mama and Daddy came home with some new food for me. It is EVO by Innova.

And look it is the "Red Meat" formula...it is suppose to be the closest thing to raw feeding. I had to sniff it out and check it out for myself. It sniffs out yummy to me!
It is grain free with the lowest carbohydrate count with real beef. It also has the highest percentage of protein that we've ever seen...at 44.7%. The drawback is that I won't get as many kibbles to get the same amount of nutrients needed....so the quality beat out the quantity. Mama said that I only deserve the best!

I will have to test it out and let you all know what I think...but so far I think anything will beat my diet kibbles...thank goodness.

Cabin Fever

It has been record cold here in Austin, Texas. We haven't had any snow, but the temperature has gotten down to a low 9 degree at night and a high of only 32 degree in the last week. If it would have rained in addition of the low temperature, I'm sure we would have gotten snow too. This year we've had record heat and now record cold weather!
In turn, I've had major Cabin Fever these last two weeks. It has been too cold for going to the park as well as going for a decent walk. I don't mind the cooler weather...in fact, I love the cold, it is the humans that cannot take it. Therefore, I've been cooped up for a while.

And then finally, today I got to go play outside. Mama and Daddy took me to an empty street in our new neighborhood to play fetch. Mama made the tennis ball extra enticing by slitting it open and then putting some extra smelly salmon treats in it. I was definitely interested in playing fetch then!

Daddy did a very good job in throwing the ball far enough for me to get a good run! I got to run and stretch out my legs. I had a great time and it was a good relief to my week long Cabin Fever!

Hook 'Em Horns!!!!!

Today is the day my parents have been waiting for all year! The University of Texas Longhorns are going to crush those Alabama Crimson Tides in the BCS National Championship. Does anyone actually know what a Crimson Tide is....? At least a Longhorn is a true mascot! Daddy is extremely nervous as the game gets closer...since we are the underdogs. I think we'll end up being the wonderdogs when we win and crush the Tides! As you can see, we all have our burnt orange on, ready to go. Being that Mama graduated from UT...we have plenty of burnt orange gear to go around! I am hoping for the TX Longhorns to score lots and lots of touchdowns, as I'll always get a celebratory treat!

Welcome 2010!!! I hope every pup was not terribly frightened by all the loud fireworks going off in welcoming the New Year! Happy New Year!!!

Mama has started a tradition that I'm very happy about. This is my 3rd annual New Year's Day gift receiving. Like before, Mama loads up on the "after Christmas sale" and buys me enough Dingo bones to last my roommates and I at least six months. This is a picture of me with a quarter of the lot:
Like the previous years, we are dog sitting Uncle Gary's friend's dog KD Lang again. She is a pretty, fluffy Cavalier King Charles that is neurotic with food and treats. If you are not careful, she'll eat everything you have. Here we are waiting for Mama to give us a treat.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Merry Christmas to every human and every pup! I hope everyone got everything they wished for!

This morning started off a little rough...I had a bad tummy ache overnight and had to wake Daddy up several time in the middle of the night to let me go outside and potty. Daddy is so proud of me for whining and making noise to let him know that I needed to go potty and not make a sloppy brown mess. I know better! In the process, I think I might have seen Santa Paws make a landing at my house. When I woke up Christmas morning, look what I found...
I received almost everything on my list to Santa Paws and more. Mama forgot to put it in the picture, but I also received a new Super Chewer Black Kong toy and a red Vest Harness. I love everything I received...with the exception of the Vest Harness...that one kind of feels like wearing clothes, so I'm not a big fan. I think I'll stick to the collar.

I hope all is well. Please give everyone you visit my well wishes. This year has flown by very quickly, and I almost forgot it was time to write my wishlist letter.

Like years past, I've been a very good girl all year long. I haven't ruined any furniture, nor have I chewed up anything I wasn't suppose to. I did however, give my Mama and Daddy a major scare in the Summer time; I had three teeth removed and was at the Vet for a whole day! It was scary, but I proved to be a brave pup!

Full Day!

On Sunday, I was kept busy from the time I woke up until it was time for bed! I haven't had a full day like that in a long, long while. I got to go to brunch with Mama and Daddy and afterwards I was taken to the dog park at Auditorium Shores. There were especially a lot of dogs out because it was the first pretty day in over 2 weeks. As you can see, we do not get many fall foliage. That one tree behind me is as good as it gets as far as fall leaves.After we got home,...of course I was given my usual bath after the park. I was scrubbed down and sprayed with some doggy pawfume. Mama said that I had to smell pretty because we were all invited to a Christmas Pawty and I had to be presentable.

Mama had anticipated that I would get along with the party host's dog...a pure Maltese named Nigel. To her dismay...Nigel didn't much like me. He barked at me from the time I entered his house until we left. At first, I was being a very good girl and ignored all his barking...after a continuous 10 minute of his fretting, I finally raised my lips at him. Mama was so surprised that I would yell back because I normally am very easy going and laid back. Daddy was very proud of me because I stuck up for myself. We didn't get into a brawl or anything, but I showed him that I was a brave pup.

All the humans at the party absolutely loved me. They all said I smelled great because of the bath and pawfume...I guess Mama knows what she is doing.

Here is a picture of me and Nigel. It was a miracle to be able to capture this picture because he sure did bark at me every chance he got. Nigel was sitting in his Mom's lap and I was just being courteous.

I love our Fall weather!!!!

Today was another great day at the dog park. This time, I got to visit a new park at Austin's Auditorium Shores. The park was big with lots of puppies. We had access to the water on Lady Bird Lake and had views of the Austin skyline. I got to pose with the statue of Stevie Ray Vaughn, which helps display Austin as "The Music Capital of the World." Austin also has this new campaign, "Scoop the Poop." Austin is a very clean and environmentally green city. We are also super pet friendly and want to make sure the dogs and the humans share the parks, so the city adopted a new campaign reminding all the humans to "scoop the poop!" There was even a huge pile of brown dirt with a doggy cartoon, to remind every human that if the poop doesn't get picked up, it can be as big as the mound displayed...The city put up a huge shovel with the message painted on it to remind all the humans and doggies who uses the park. See how big the statue is...

100th POST!!!!

This is the 100th post on my blog and it is over one of my favorite subject....FOOD! Today, Mama made me my favorite snack, fresh cooked Chicken Breast..umm, ummm yum! The package of chicken was pretty hefty! Before it was cooked... After it was cooked.... Then my Mama pulls it apart into strips. The chicken broth is not wasted, Mama bottles the broth up and sometimes it is used to soften my kibbles. I sometimes get chicken strips as a treat, but I mainly get chicken during trick training. Regardless, when I get the chicken, I'm just happy to have chicken in my life!!!!

Bull Creek Dog Park

The weather has finally gotten cooler, enough for me to go to the Dog Park. Daddy insisted on taking me out because he felt sorry that I've been cooped up all Summer due to the heat. So today...to my surprise, I was taken to a famous dog park here in Austin....Bull Creek!

I was HORRIFIED! It is a dog park with lots of water. For those of you who knows me...I hate the water!
Needless to say, Mama and Daddy both got in the creek and left me on the bank of the creek to fend for myself. Being that I'm a Mama's girl, I had to follow her where ever she went...so in the water I went....eeeekkkk!
There were a lot of other puppies having a GREAT time...me, not so much. At one point, I found refuge on a rock sitting higher above the water and refused to get off. Mama finally came and got me and made me tread water.Daddy was great at encouraging me along.

Then I finally SWAM when I got to the deep end. Too bad Daddy forgot to charge to battery for the camera because Mama was not able to capture me in swimming action.

Both Mama and Daddy were super proud of me because I ended up having a GREAT time at Bull Creek. I finally conquered my fear and can officially now say that I can SWIM! I was so extremely tired afterwards when we got home, but Mama still insited on giving a shower. Overall, I had a GREAT time!

We Moved!

The humans have been too busy to help me keep up with my blog lately. We have moved since my last post. My Uncle Gary has bought a house and we've moved further away from the city.
Mama now lives 15 minutes further away than before. I'm sad that it will take her longer to come visit me! She did make sure that I had all my goodies packed up for the move.

Daddy found a disc full of my baby pictures. This was a pic of the day I came home...9/2/2006...I was a mere 4lbs....I enjoyed chewing from a very young age...preferably DINGO bones...It was love at first sight for me and Daddy!Mama made sure I had enough chewies...I would plop down in the middle of playing to take a nap... Then I was up and about again...

I was a smart pup from the beginning. I knew where to lay to cool off...the tile is always cooler than the carpet.I was a tiny thing with sharp teeth...look, the mini tennis ball was stuck to my tooth!Was I a cutie patootie or what?Where is CoCo?I've always been a pain in Susie's rear...

Dog days of Summer!

It has been the hottest Summer on record here in Texas. The closest thing I get to daring to get sun exposure is catching the rays that beams through the window in the mornings. Other than that, it is lazy days til it cools off.
Nothing beats relaxing and napping all day indoors in the cold air conditioning.
Although, I do miss sniffing at the dog park and having extra long walks. It is just not possible when the temperature has been an average of 103 degrees. I think today's forecast said it will be record 105 again!
I also wear a black fur coat all year long, so again...Indoors in the COLD A/C it is until at least Halloween!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CoCo Puff!!!

Today is my birthday! I am now 3 years old. Mama said that I am growing up too fast. For my big day, Mama and Daddy got me lots of goodies!I received lots of squeaky toys, one in the shape of a present, a double squeaky cherries, a margarita and a new loofa dog. I also received a lot of treats. My birthday cake and cookies were from Groovy Dog Bakery, which is local here in Austin.Mama bought my birthday cake there last year too...they are super yummy and super organic! Happy Birthday to Me!!! My birthday cake this year tasted of honey, apple and carob. It was delicious! Mama made me pose with all my presents.I was not very amused!!!Don't you think I look ridiculously silly in that frilly birthday tiara???I celebrated with my roommates, Susie and Duke.Duke was not very amused when he had to wear the birthday hat. We all had our own slice of cake.I gobbled mine up in a heart beat! I wanted seconds. Birthdays are great! I had a great one!

Cool-It Bandana!

IT IS HOT!!!! My Mama finally took the advice from Preston the Puggle's Mommy and bought me an "Outward Hound Cool-it" bandana. Lets just say it really works!They come in colors for both boys and girls. Mama got me the pink one since it looks better on my black fur coat.
Now that I got my Summer gear in paw, I hope to get to go on more walkies during this sultry Texas heat. If I'm really lucky, the Park might be a possibility too!The Cool-it Bandana even works great in keeping me comfortable while indoors! For a pup that do not like to wear anything in the Clothes category...I actually like this one and not mind it at all. I would have to give it two paws UP!

Doctor's Order

Since my little toofie surgery...I only lost 0.4 lbs. Last week, I weighed 21.8 lbs...today I weighed 21.4 lbs. You would think that after such major work done to my mouth, I would at least shed a whole pound?!?! Urrrggghhh!

Well, I think I can safely blame it on the wet food I've been getting since the extractions. After all, they were Doctor's orders! This is what Mama got me today:

It was very holistic and very pure. Mama read the ingredient label and everything checked out okay! Mama said that it didn't look very appetizing to her, but it was DELICIOUS!

Here, I gave Duke my roommate, the stare-down because he was coming too close to my yummy dinner.

Then I had to wait very patiently for Mama's release for me to eat.It took me longer than usual to eat wet food. It definitely took more licks to finish than regular kibbles. I enjoyed every last lick and am so not looking forward to plain dry kibbles after my prescribed time is up!

Post-Op...I survived!

CoCo Puff here...I'm a little dazed and confused! Today was the day...I had my Dental Surgery. It was painful! I woke up at my usual time this morning and Susie and Duke were given breakfast, but I wasn't. I was not allowed any food before surgery. I was not too pleased with that...those of you who knows me, knows that I live to "eat."

Daddy washed my face, combed my fur and spritz some Juicy Critture Doggy Pawfume on me and then took me to the Vet at 9am. At arrival, all the Vet Techs and nurses loved on me. They said I was the cutest dog, and smelled soooo good!

After the Vet exam, it was confirmed, I had to get the bad molar extracted. Not only that, the Vet also found two other bad teeth, so I had them removed too. It was a far back, top molar that is useless, and a lower M1 molar on the same side of the initial P4 molar. In total, I lost 3 teeth...O-U-C-H!!! While under the anesthesia, the Vet also gave me a deep dental cleaning, so I should be okay in the teeth department for a while!

Mama came and picked me up at 4:30 pm. I was so happy to see her! I walked out of the Vet's back office tail wagging! The nurse gave Mama some Pain Meds, Antibiotics, a bag of Dental Care Rawhides for me. And of course, my extracted teeth too. Mama was SUPER happy to see that I was happy and okay! $325 dollars later, we arrived home. I was super hungry when I got home. All I wanted was food. The Vet had prescribed soft kibbles or wet food. YUM! I was only given 1/4 of my regular portion, just in case the anesthesia caused an upset stomach. As you can see in the pictures, I was very glassy eyed due to all the drugs.I will be on meds for the next week, so I will keep you all posted. Oh ya, and another thing....this was not my ideal way of going on a DIET, but it will have to benefit my waistline somehow!

Oh NO!!! I broke my top molar, now I might need to get it extracted! OOPPS!!!!

Oh no! I have more bad news! I might have to get one of my top, left molar extracted. I'm scared! It all started when Daddy was trying to brush my teeth this past Sunday. He was doing his routine thing until I refused to let him brush my left side. Daddy thought it was a little weird and he told Mama that I acted "Ape S#!t." He then checked my teeth again today and saw that I had lost half of a molar. When he checked and compared both sides of my mouth, it was confirmed that my left top P4 molar was half gone.Then, Daddy called the Vet Dentist and asked questions. The Vet told him over the phone that my broken molar may have to be extracted! We have an appointment for this Thursday in the early morning for a consultation, and possible extraction...Mama is really scared! As you can see. The arrow points at the tooth where there is nerve exposure. The circle tooth is suppose to be pointed.
No one really knows when this happened. Below you will see that I was still chewing my new Nylabone on May 20th.I've always been a super chewer and love to chew hard things, but no one really thought I would lose a tooth over it!

Mama has now thrown away all my Nylabones and HARD beef shank bones. Mama and Daddy are both totally heart broken and is worried sick that I might be in pain. I am actually my jolly ole self. If you saw me, you wouldn't know that I have a half broken tooth in my mouth. I still eat just fine and am loving life. No one would have known that I had this problem until Daddy decided to brush my teeth. Now I have to go to the Doggy Dentist and lose a part of myself. =(

CoCo's Mama here: From now on out, we are going to supervise CoCo like a hawk when she chews on anything. We have also thrown away all her hard chewies and do not plan on buying anymore Nylabones. Warning to all other heavy chewers out there...YOU CAN BREAK YOUR TEETH! We will keep everyone posted as this progress.

Not So Fun Trip to Petsmart!

Don't laugh! But my Daddy was so impressed with Preston the Puggle's ability to wear Doggles, that he wanted to see if I could wear them too. So today he took me to Petsmart to try on some Doggles.

I do not like wearing clothes, much less wearing sun shades. The most humiliating part was that Mama suggested that I walk around the store wearing those silly things. Needless to say, I refused to walk and when I did, I look like I was drunk walking. The other shoppers were laughing hysterically at me!

Then, to top it off...Daddy had me weighed on the scale at Petsmart. I came in at a heafty 21.8 lbs. Immediately after the weigh-in, Daddy said "CoCo you are going on a D-I-E-t!" For those of you who have seen this dilema before, this is what I had to go through last fall. D-I-E-t...YUCK! Daddy then prescribed me diet food, no treats and a walkie everyday in this 100 degree heat! Yikes! It was no fun visiting Petsmart today!

My Daddy came back from his trip all safe and sound. Now he is back to work and is having to work extra long Summer hours! The Summer heat is in full gear and we are already in the 100 degree mark here in Texas. All that is left for me to do is enjoy the air conditioner inside by chewing on a chewy!
This chewy was an extra large one for my size and should keep me busy for a while. Yum, yum...

Daddy is out of town...I am out of sleep!

I'm sooooo sad. My Daddy went to Atlanta, Georgia yesterday to visit his Mom. I think I over heard him say that he went to visit because it was his Mom's Burfday.
Daddy, when are you coming home? I miss you! Why didn't you take me with you?

I hope you come back soon because my sleeping pattern is all messed up. I cannot believe I have to sleep in my own "dog bed" while you are gone. I haven't had to sleep a full night in one of those in fur-ever, so hurry back so I can snuggle in my comfy mattress with you!

Peanut Butter Face

Mama figured that I needed something to blog about...being that we have been doing a bad job in keeping my blog updated, so today, she helped me capture my "Peanut Butter Face." The first order of business is to get my bone all buttered up....Then I had to wait very patiently for the "okay" command so I could get all gooeyed up. Once the licking got started, it was yummy yummy for my tummy! Mama especially loved it seeing my tongue go all over the place....The whole ordeal was captured all on video...enjoy!

Yucky Spring!

I have not been up to much lately. It has been a really boring and muggy Spring. The weather has been super yucky this season. We have had: rain, heavy humidity, cloudy skies, and hail. Mama HATES hail...Daddy does too. They said something along the lines of denting their new cars....I wouldn't know what that means!
So all I've done this Spring is play with my favorite ball and chew on my chewies....And Bully Sticks are my favorite!!!

HAPPY BURFDAY DADDY!!!

This year, on April 30th, my Daddy is having a big Lunar Burfday! For those of you who are not familiar with the Lunar Calendar, cycles of the Lunar horoscope rotates every twelve years. Needless to say, it is Daddy's year of the Ox. Daddy had told Mama that this year for his birthday, we were going help "jump start" the economy and help with the recession. His birthday present was going to be "HUGE!"............

What Mama and I were not expecting was that he was going to go through an early "mid-life crisis" and wanted a Motorcycle.Mama said no to the crotch-rocket! So instead, he found himself another toy....a car! This is the car Daddy is getting!

So now, we have a new ride. I test drove it first and I approved. It is suppose to be pretty spiffy. Hopefully I will get to ride in it often!

My newest trick is jumping through hoops. Soon I will be joining the circus. Daddy assisted me in doing my new awesome trick. I was lured through the hoop with a real beef, shank bone.As you can see, I caught some good air time!My parents are literally having me jump through hoops for a treat!

Spring is here!!!

Prettier Spring weather only means Dog Park for CoCo Puff!!!! A couple of weeks ago, my roommates Susie and Duke got to go to the dog park with me. They had never been before, so it was a new experience for all of us! The extra pooch you all see is Bear. He is a Shih Tsu Mix that belongs to my Uncle Gary's new girlfriend. Bear is about 1 years old and plays violently with ropes. He is a little too excited for Susie, Duke and I. We all had a good time at the park. Susie and Duke didn't know what to do, other than sniff everything and everywhere. I also did the usual, sniff, sniff, sniff...

Here is a picture of all of us loaded up to go to the park in the back of Uncle Gary's girlfriend's car. I didn't like the ride too much. It was hot and super uncomfortable. Mama and Daddy usually lets me ride shotgun with them, but since there was a whopping 4 dogs going to the park, we didn't want any pooch to feel jealous, so I had to suck it up. Look at how I was panting...Here is a group picture of all of us at the park. Susie didn't want to participate.

Duke and I had a good time. We sniffed the same things and walked around together.

When I was finally exhausted, I went and sat in Daddy's lap. Daddy petted my belly with the cool breeze flowing through my fur....it was nice.

Mama also kept me comfortable too!

Don't Like Working for Food!!!

Look what I have to go through to get a bite to eat! My Mama believes that I have to earn everything I eat, so if she feeds me dinner, I have to do a couple of tricks before I am allowed to eat. The dinner Mama makes me is usually tastier and smellier, so I am always eager to eat it. I like it when Daddy and Uncle Gary feeds me because I get to eat right away, but it usually does not taste as good as when Mama makes me dinner....I hear her say something like "putting in TLC" in my dinner. Whatever that is, I love the way it taste, but not the work I have to do to get it! As you can see, I am at my rebellious stage in becoming a "big girl," so I like to vocally protest. The video do not come close to what I usually have to do...Mama is only showing you the short version....don't let the video fool you!

To Chew or Not to Chew...that is the question!

Those of you who know me, knows that I L-O-V-E rawhides. In fact, I've asked to be paid in RAWHIDES for any kind of services that I do, You Can Pay Me in Rawhides! This is me holding my rawhide in my mouth!On this day, Mama got out of class early and came home during lunch time. We were all let out to relieve ourselves and Susie and Duke decided that they wanted to stay outside to sunbathe. I,...being the smarter puppy, decided that I would rather follow Mama inside because she is bound to have to eat lunch. She did! To keep my nose out from her lunch, Mama gave me a rawhide to keep me busy. Normally, I would chew, knaw, and eat the rawhide within 5 minutes of receiving it, but on this day...I decided I wanted to hide it. Mama managed to capture it on video. Look, I even brushed the air with my nose as if I was really burying it!

(CoCo's Mama here: CoCo actually walked all over the house for almost 20 minutes, trying to find the perfect spot to hide her rawhide. The video was only one of the few spots she choose to hide her bone. I think it was only due to Susie and Duke being outside did she decide to do that. CoCo eventually sat down to chew her treat when Susie and Duke came back inside from sunbathing. Dogs do the darndest things!)

Earning My Keep!!!

Hello my Blog Buddies!!! Sorry for not updating my blog sooner. My Mama has been too busy and have been neglecting to help me get my barks out! Needless to say...I've been busy too. I have finally MASTERED the "hide your eye" trick. I finally decided to cooperate and my Mama got her wish. I had to work very hard, because my Mama would not accept anything less than my Paw over my whole muzzle. Of course, I was well rewarded if I did it correctly!!!

Now, my new task of business is to learn how to "take a bow." I do not like this trick at all!
I have to keep my front paws on the floor, my rear end in the air and it feels funny! My Mama is on a mission in keeping me busy.
Who said that a "pet" doesn't have to work for a bite to eat! I am definitely earning my keep!

Okay, so Christmas is over...so is the New Year...we've just had Valentine's, now what? (Of course Bruschi...I will be your Puggletine!) It is back to work. My new job for the season is to learn how to hide my eyes. Mama have been trying to get me to do this trick for the last 2 weeks, and I'm not getting it...at least I've convinced her that I am not getting it. It is my sneaky way of getting more treats since she is soooo determined to teach me to "hide my eyes." All I really rather do is chew on my bone!

I've always had to wait for the "ok" before I get to eat, but recently, Mama has been going overboard in making me wait. You can almost count the number of kibbles in my bowl because I had to wait sooooo long!I then have to look at my Mama in the eye to acknowledge that I am paying attention before she gives me the signal "ok." Then I chow down! Yum yum!

Does any other pups out there have to endure the pain I go through before dinner?

Long Lost Twin!

Last Sunday morning, as I was minding my own business, I suddenly heard a hysterical laugh come out of Uncle Gary. He quickly asked my Daddy to come over to take a look at something. Then Daddy started laughing hysterically as well. Together, they were looking at this ad in the Sunday paper:Then I heard,"Oh my God...that is CoCo!" I don't think that looks like me!!! My teeth are not that bad, and I do not have a rough coat! I do have a severe under-bite, and my snaggle do show up in pictures sometimes. Here is a side-by-side comparison: If I would have known that they were looking for a cute dog with the perfect smile, I would have submitted a few pics to have kibbles for life!You cannot say that I wouldn't give this pup a good run for his money!

1. Carat, Cut, Color, and Clarity (Mama said that every girl should know the importance of these four C's). Diamonds are a Girl's best friend!

2. Chicken- full of flavor, nutrients and I LOVE Chicken!

3. Carrots- a healthy snack that is tasty and full of texture!

4. Cookies- doggy cookies, human cookies, just plain cookies...I like cookies!

5. Coffee- my Daddy and Mama both drink a lot of it. Uncle Gary roast the beans fresh in our kitchen so I get to smell it every day. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!

GONG HEI FAT CHOI!!!

That is Happy New Year in Chinese. To celebrate this day, Mama put Red Bows on me. Red is a festive and significant color to the Chinese culture! This year is the year of the OX, which is also my Daddy's sign. People who are born under the sign of the Ox are: dependable, calm, modest and stable. According to Chinese astrology, the Ox is the best friend you could choose. I agree to that one since Daddy and Uncle Phillip both have the sign of the Ox and are truly my best friends. On Chinese New Year, elders give young ones Red Envelopes filled with money. Mama gave me a Red Envelope too! I cannot do anything with money, so Mama, will you please help me open this and trade it in for bones or treats?

Part of my New Year's Resolution was to shed less of my hair all over the house. Mama bought me this vitamin that taste like liver treats to help me accomplish the task. I just wanted to tell Preston "Thank You" again for introducing me to the fabulous Pet Greens Treats. They are soooo yummy! I prefer them over my other treats. My Mama had me do a demonstration in a video. The treats shown in the video, from left to right are: Cranberry Puff, Dried Chicken Jerkey, Teddy Bear Cookie, Pet Greens and a Planter's lightly salted peanut. All of which are my favorite!

(we apologize for the quality of the video...the lighting wasn't great, Mama took it on her digital camera, and since I am a black pup...its hard to see me!)

As you can see in the video, I choose the Pet Greens first, then the salty peanut. I'm sure all of you who have tried the Pet Greens can understand why I choose the Pet Greens first!

Great Gifts...then I was ROBBED!

Thank you Bruschi the Puggle and Preston the Puggle for my fabulous Christmas cards and Presents. It was very thoughtful of you guys for thinking of me!

I first received a package from Bruschi, and when I opened it, there was a pawsome Holiday letter with a Christmas Rawhide treat.Mama broke off a piece for me to try, and of course I had to work for it.It was delicious...Thank you Bruschi and Bruschi's Mom!

A couple of days later, another package came for me! It was from Preston! With the help from Mama, my package was opened, and in it I found a big bag of Pet Greens Organic Treats and a pawsome Holiday Picture Card from Preston.I was soooo excited about the new treats because I had never had it before...Mama opened the treats and gave me ONLY 1 piece to sample. I had to work hard for the one piece I got.She then also gave Susie, Duke and KD Lang (We are Dog Sitting!) a piece to try....we all loved it! Thank you Preston and Preston's Mommy!

And then....I WAS ROBBED!!!! The story goes...after the mail was opened and we all sampled the Pet Greens, Mama resealed the package and left it on our coffee table and then everybody left the house to go eat dinner. Susie, Duke and I are very well behaved pups when left alone. We have NEVER had an incident...but on this night we had another pup in the house...KD Lang, the Cavalier King Charles, that have been staying with us. KD on the other hand, is notorious for stealing food. When Daddy and Uncle Gary came home from dinner, Daddy found an area of the carpet with some ripped packaging and clumps & clumps of KD's hair around it. After 5 minutes of looking, Daddy found this:

KD had eaten my WHOLE ENTIRE BAG of Christmas present from Preston.I was nice enough to share when we opened the bag, but apparently that wasn't enough for the pooch. I was ROBBED! Mama felt so bad that I was robbed because I only got to sample 1 piece of the savory beef Pet Greens treat. She immediately went to the store the next day to replace my gift.

Lucky for me, Bruschi's gift was put away high out of KD's reach, otherwise, I'm sure she would have shown no mercy! Of course, she left all the paper and Holiday cards alone, because she didn't have any interest in seeing who sent the gifts...just the best part! Thank goodness she has gone home...next time, Uncle Gary may have to think twice before agreeing to dog sit...that dog was CRAZY!

We have also left countless of treats, food, and things on the coffee table before, and Susie, Duke and CoCo have NEVER gone after them. Lucky for us, KD only ate the treats, and not the packaging too. We saw that she had nibbled on the "Do Not Eat Keep Dry" package that came in the bag, but didn't penetrate it. I have the best Mama of 2009! Look what I received to kick off the new year!I received enough Dingo bones to last me at least 6 months. Mama said that she used to receive New Year's presents as a child because her Mom and Dad would go shop the after Christmas sales, and she would receive more presents due to the deals.Mama decided she would continue that tradition with me. Of course, like last year, I had to show off and do a trick for my treats.This is the third year I have received New Year presents. Christmas Presents

Christmas morning started off fantastically. It started when Daddy made me a special breakfast that included cooked ground beef & kibbles. It was delicious! Then it was time for presents....This is the proof that I was a good pup all year. Santa Paws brought me lots, and lots of goodies!I received a bag of Greenies, a new Nylabone, new stuffies, some Mixables for my kibbles, and a HUGE 3lb bag of Chicken Jerky. The Chicken Jerky is for Susie, Duke and I to share. I cannot wait to dig in!Mama made sure that I posed next to all my gifts to show all my buddies. The first gift I choose was the Resse's Pieces...but I was fooled to think I was going for some chocolate...it was only a imitation stuffie.Mama also told me that if I am extra good for the rest of the year, I am going to get New Year Gifts too. Oh boy...I hit Jackpot again!

We are Dog Sitting!

Look who came to stay with us for the Howlidays..."KD Lang."KD is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.She belongs to one of Uncle Gary's friend, and he agreed to Dog Sit while his friend was out of town. KD follows Uncle Gary around like his shadow, therefore making my roommate Susie really mad. Susie was sooo upset, she spent most of Christmas day sleeping under the cover.

I don't mind KD at all. She is not an Alpha and we get along fine. I think it is funny how she does such a good job at upsetting my nemis Susie! KD has a severe case of separation anxiety, so she is a little needy. Other than that, I like her just fine. KD will be staying with us for a few days, so hopefully Susie will keep her cool!

Mama will usually check her email and help me update my blog, while Daddy will typically watch TV or sit & push lots of buttons. Letter to Santa Paws

Dear Santa Paws,

I want to first Thank You for all my gifts last year! Jackpot! I cannot believe it has been a full year since my last letter to you. Letter to Santa I have been a really good puppy this year. Mama tells me everyday how lucky she feels to have me...and I believe her!

I am definitely a puppy worth rewarding this year, because I haven't chewed up anything I was not suppose to. I've also learned many new tricks, as well as be civil with my roommate Susie. I haven't had an indoor potty mistake in ages, although I have gone into the bathroom to poo on the tile in the middle of the night and given Daddy a Morning Surprise a couple of times, but that was only because he forgot to let me out before bed time. Mama said that I've learned to go to the bathroom....literally! So, for Christmas this year, I would like:

Happy Birthday Mama!!!

Today is my Mama's Birthday! We will not reveal her age...lets just say that it is a milestone age. She is kind of taking it pretty hard. Happy Gobble Gobble!!!

I hear that today is suppose to be one of the biggest eating days of the year by those humans! Maybe there will be an extra serving for me! Last week, Mama came home with a big surprise for me. She brought me a REAL B-O-N-E. It was a beef bone with marrow in it! She had to boil it for 25 minutes and let it cool off before it was ready for me to have it, but when I had it....um, um good!

I had to work hard at getting a really good grip around it because it was a generous size!Daddy is suppose to make me another one of those special B-O-N-E-S for my Thanksgiving...we will see about that! Mama and Daddy has a tendency to spell out the word "bone" when they do not want to over excite me, but what they do not know, is that I can spell too! Christmas Shopping!!!

A couple of weeks back, Daddy and Mama dragged me to PetsMart and PetCo to get weighed. I was on strict diet then. After being weighed, we all walked around the store.

What my parents didn't know, was that I was taking notes and sniffing around for my Christmas presents. I looked at dog biscuits, new foods, Greenies, bones, rawhides treats, toys, and then I stumbled on my friend Preston's book. I was taking lots of notes, and I'm ready to send Santa Paws a message. I hope all you Pups out there are getting your list started!

Annual Checkup!

Today, Daddy tricked me into going to the vet. He first said that we were going for a ride to pick up Mama from school, but he failed to mention that we were going to the vet straight after. While we were in the waiting area, I met a Bichon Frise...he was scared and shaking. I also saw many other dogs that were waiting for their turn. The diet thing has leveled off. The weigh in came in at 21 lbs. I was weighed on this ancient looking scale. The result wasn't too bad, the Dr. said I weighed 22 lbs last year at this time, so Mama was happy. I had to stand on the cold stainless table and get my temperature taken. The violation is embarassing, so I jumped off the table. I was then picked back up and put on the cold table. I then sat and listened attentively as the Vet Tech told Daddy what I needed. It was then determined that I needed my round of booster shots and a set of dewormer preventative that will taste like bananas. I took my shot like a grand champion because my Daddy distracted me with a yummy cookie treat while the Doc gave me the shot. Daddy then gave me a big kiss for being such a well behaved good girl! Lucky for me, I don't have to do this again for another whole year!

HAPPY HOWL-O-WEEN!!!

I do not feel too well today. For some reason, my tummy gurgled a lot, and I felt woozy and did not feel like eating. I went out into the yard and tried to knaw on some grass to make me feel better, but it didn't really help.Mama was very worried since I didn't want to eat my dinner...I don't blame her for worrying...since this diet has been going on, I usually do not get enough, but today...I didn't want any! I laid in the yard for a bit to try to feel better.Mama said that if I skip another meal, she will make me go to the vet to see what is wrong. Yikes...I guess I will have to purk up...I'm too weak...On a brighter note...tomorrow is HOWL-O-WEEN! I am suppose to get a new toy and new treats...its a Holiday! Hopefully I will be all better to enjoy the day!Being that I HATE clothes, and costumes, Mama didn't bother buying a new costume for me, so I am the "Little Devil" again this year. My Prize!!!

Look what I won! Today, I received my package from Faya in the mail! It was addressed to: CoCo. I was sooo excited and the package smelled like there was something yummy inside, I licked the package. After sniffing around, I had to ask for help because it was taped up really good. When I finally got it opened it, it was a treasure! I received a new hot pink, raccoon, stretchy toy, two bandanas, and two packages of yummy treats from Switzerland. Faya also included a precious picture of her and Dyos...they are sooo cute! The Annual PUG-KIN Fest!

This past Saturday, Mama and Daddy took the day off and took me to the annual PUG-Kin fest. This was the first year I got to go. We usually miss the fest due to both Mama and Daddy having to work. The festival was sponsored by our local Westlake Animal Hospital and was hosted by DFW Pug Rescue. To my knowledge, DFW Rescue Group is one of the largest Pug Rescue groups in the nation. I had never seen soooo many Pugs in my life.I kind of stuck out like a sore thumb...there were not many cross breeds there. I was lucky enough to meet a Chug (chihuahua & pug mix).I also met a puppy English Bulldog, so I was not the only odd ball out.There were Howlloween Costume Contents with fun and games. I didn't enter the Costume Contest because I don't like to wear stuff, but Daddy insisted that I wear my Longhorn T-Shirt since we had a big game that same evening. So either way, I was stuck in clothes! (by the way, we ended up crushing Mizzou!) I don't think there were any talent contest, or I would have sure to win the "talented dog trick" category. Then there was an area for Fall Pictures. Mama HAD to make sure I posed for a picture.Overall it was a great time...the people were nice, the weather was beautiful and I enjoyed it!

That was the final score after today's game against the Okalahoma Sooners! My cheering for the team has helped. Both my Mama and Daddy are super excited. Now maybe we have a chance to the BCS National Championship! Go Longhorns!

BEAT OU!!!!

Both my Mama and Daddy are from the University of Texas at Austin. If you guys are familiar with the game of Football...it is going to beTexas vs OU weekend coming up. (OU stands for Okalahoma University) Needless to say...we are rooting for the Longhorns. We have been beat by the Sooners one too many times, so this year they have me to cheer them on. I have my Longhorn T-shirt and remote control ready to go! According to the NCAA AP Poll, we the Longhorns are the #5 team and the OU Sooners are #1. Hopefully, the rankings will all change for the better after Oct.11th. Happy week of tailgating!

Diet Update

So, it has been 10 days since I started this Diet mess. Mama thinks that I might have actually lost 1/2 a pound. I personally think I've lost something like 15 pounds because my breakfast and dinner have been reduced down to dust specs. Okay I'm exaggerating.....I'm eating under the recommendations for a 18lb doggies rather than my actual 22lb amount. Needless to say its not enough! I'm not on Diet Food, just reduced intake. I do not get treats like I used to, but every once and a while, my puppy dog eyes would buy me these low calorie Cheese Pup treats. My Mama has even gone as far as only giving me a treat in a Tricky Ball...in which I have to work for. The treat is stuck in the ball, so I have to roll and throw the ball around until the treat falls out...then I get a treat! There is soooo much work involved! This Diet thing really sucks. I cannot wait to get to my target weight of 20lbs and all this silly mess will go away! The best part of it all is that I am sure to get a walkie everyday!

Update: 9/28/08- I have lost 1.4 lbs since I was last weighed 13 days ago. I now weigh 20.8 lbs. My Mama is super proud of me! She said we will keep this up for a little bit longer and then I can eat like normal again!

Ike is long gone, and we did not get a single drop of its rain! Thank goodness!

This past Sunday, Mama had this brilliant idea to take me to Petsmart, being that I have been stuck inside for a few days. I was excited until Daddy had this superb idea to have me weighed at the Vet's scale...dum...dum, duuuummm... The weigh in for me came in at 22.2 lbs. The horrible word of DIET came out of the Vet Tech's mouth! Notice...the first three letters to "diet" spells D-I-E. Is that a pre-empted message of a painful torture of sort? I think so!

I am in the category between Too Heavy and Ideal. I'm not quite overweight, but am not ideal either. My excuse is that it has been super hot outside and I cannot deal with all that heat...I have black fur! Plus, my broadness is due to the Pug side of me!

Mama said that I have to reduce my intake of food and increase my exercise...YUCK! That would mean that Mama and Daddy would have to take me out on walkies more...hee, hee, heee! This is me waiting to go on my walkie!

Here I am sniffing up all my pee mails.Making sure I recognized that one!Then I checked out the local hangout of the fire hydrant!Then all of a sudden, Mama burst into a sprint. I had to go along with her. Look at me run!

I sure don't run very often. Both Mama and I were exhausted when we got back to the house. All I wanted was some cool water.This is how I feel about D-I-E-t and exercise: I was super tired and exhausted after my 20 minute walkie that entailed some running. Mama said that she would reduce her dessert and sugar intake to diet with me. Now if only we can convince Daddy to give up his Fried Chicken!

So I hear the tv say that it is going to be something called a "hurricane," and I thought...it might be something that sounds like a fast-Christmas candy...but Mama said it is going to be more like excessive wind and rain. YUCK!We here in Austin shouldn't be in the center of everything, but supposively I'm not going to be able to go on my walkies or go potty outside peacefully for a couple of days. Another YUCK! Lets just hope that we don't get floated away...in the meantime, I'm going to stay under the futon for shelter until all this chaos is over!

Catching Up!

I have not seen white spots in days... that is because my Mama is back in school and she seems to be super busy! The Mama paparazzi has not had time to click and flash me in the face with that silly camera, so there are few to no new pictures of me. Daddy is still working crazy hours and I'm bored out of my mind! Soon, everything will kick back in gear, so in the meantime...I'll hang tight!I am involved in a contest hosted by Amber Mae and Faya. Last Summer vs This Summer

Last year we had excessive amount of rain, so my backyard was lush and green with healthy grass. (this is me at 18 pounds and 1 years old)This year, we are having excessive lack of rain and are in a drought, so I have crispy dry grass. (this is me at 22 pounds at 2 years old)You guys can compare both of my pictures, as the same area of the yard is pictured. Please excuse my disgracing waistline. Its amazing how the camera enlarged my mere gain of 4 pounds. My Daddy said that I'm showing my husky Pug bones.

Boring Thursday

Daddy had to go to work today. It was suppose to be his day off, but he is not off and is working. What a rip off for me and Mama.Mama compensated by teaching me tricks and letting me lounge around. I even got rawhide to chew for being so good. I was sooo happy with my chewie that I forgot that Daddy was at work.

Mama also brought me a new toy that Uncle Phil bought me. It is a burger stuffie. I love new toys! Thank you Uncle Phil!!!

I Love my KONG!

My Kong is my best buddy...especially when there is a suprise inside! This time, my Mama put Peanut Butter inside and freezed it. It was super yummy and was no challenge for me!
The key was to lick, lick, lick, and lick some more! Here is me licking my chops while working on the KONG!I also have another KONG favorite. It is my Kong Wubba...it can keep me entertained too. Too bad I cannot get any treats out of it. My Mama especially likes that toy because I can't destroy it. If you pups out there do not already have a KONG...go out and get one! They are GREAT!

For some odd reason, I had to take a shower today! I had just finished hearing Mama tell Daddy that I do not smell bad, so whats the deal? For those new friends of mine who do not already know...I HATE showers!

I had to first endure the rinse:

Then I got shampooed:Mama thought I was so cute, she grabbed the camera...I was not amused!

Another rinse...yuck!

Then I had to stand and let the conditioner stuff soak...yuck again! At the end of the whole ordeal...I left Mama with this to pick up.She said that I am a shedding machine. The best part of my day was that I got to see Susie, my roommate, endure her shower too. Susie HATES showers more than me. Susie will even run and hide when she hears the faucet turn on.

Here I am all squeaky clean. I smiled for the camera!

Its Pay Day!!!

I GOT PAID! I GOT PAID!! I GOT PAID!!! My Mama and Daddy came home from the store and brought me my payment. I got paid in a big lump sum. I had to check it out and make sure that it was an authentic payment.Mama said that I should be more willing to pose for pictures, since she paid me up front.I wonder what the payment plan is like for Overtime. Isn't it time and a half???I then got to try out the goods.It tasted pretty good. Good job Mama and Daddy in the payment. We will have to work on my Overtime payment next!

My Bed Matches Me

My bed was one of my first Christmas presents 2 years ago. I do not use it much, so it is decoration in my Daddy's bedroom. It matches me very well, and when I'm in it...you almost cannot see me!My bed is not my usual place of lounging. You can find me in it every once in a while, but not very often.I will go to my bed when told, but often there has to be an incentive involved. My bed is also a place I will head to when Daddy says its "bed time," but I will quickly move into bed with Daddy when the lights go off.

Daddy's bed is so much more comfortable than mine!
